Studio eclectic began as a husband and wife team in 2009 shooting mainly weddings, but Tracy originally started out as eclektic photography + design back in 2002 whilst dabbling in some design work along with photography. Since then we have rebranded and set up a new home studio in Strathfield, in Sydney's Inner West. After starting a family, and having our own two little munchkins, we've changed our structure and have grown the business so that Paul is now our head wedding photographer while Tracy heads up the portrait, commercial and preschool shoots while Anastasia works alongside Tracy as second shooter, production and editing assistant.

As parents we understand how important it is to have moments captured with your little ones and know plenty of fun ways for you and your family to enjoy your session together. Our goal is to ensure you all have a great time, with real laughs, capturing the character and personalities of what your children are like at this age.
We are also proud members of the AIPP. What does that mean for you? It means that we are bound by a code of ethics, we are required to have insurance, and continue with ongoing training. For you that means protection, and that you are dealing with an ethical photographer. We are also both award winning photographers from the AIPP awards.
As a boutique studio, we look after our clients like our friends and family. We only take a limited number of portrait bookings in a day so that the best light is of the day is reserved for your family! Our goal is not just to meet your expectations, but to exceed them in delivering you the very best quality albums, wall art and service.

With any family portrait taken here at Studio Eclectic, we know we have done our job well when your final visit to the studio is to pick up your portrait. Whether it is a an art print, a framed wall portrait, an album, or a canvas or wood block, it brings us great joy knowing you can view your photos each day.
We believe that photos should be displayed in your home to be enjoyed everyday, It is sad when we hear of many families who purchase a USB of photos from their professional photographer but never get around to printing any of the photos and forget what those photos actually look like.

what makes us different
In this age of digital photography, it is rare to find anyone printing their photos that they take from their phones, or their digital cameras.
But if you ask anyone what would they do if they are about to be evacuated because of bushfires of floods, what is the first thing they will grab? Photo albums. (and of course passports and pets and birth certificates!)
Why are photographs such treasured items? Family photographs preserve history, they show of the connection between loved ones and gives a window into the lives of those we have lost and never met. Photographs allows us to hold on to a small part of those dear to us but also to those we have lost as this is all we have left of them to share with the next generation.

As any parent will know, being time poor is a common issue and booking a portrait session just becomes something that gets pushed to the end of the to do list. Too often we hear from parents who come in for their portrait that they wish they had booked in earlier, that their kids grew up too quickly and life just got too busy!
If you want to capture your family together, now is the time. It doesn't matter if your toddler never ever sits still or your baby is always crawling off and you've never been able to get a good photo of him before as he moves too fast. Your children will always be changing and being ... kids! We are prepared for moments like this as we see it happen at almost every session. We will work with you and your children to ensure we capture what your family is like, even with the chaos of toddlerhood or the grunts of teenagers but also at the same time capturing the innocence and the simplicity of childhood and quality family time.

Tracy has always had a keen interest in art since she was in primary school, spent most of highschool hanging out in the art room and then went on to further study at UNSW Art & Design as she discovered her love for photography -majoring in Photomedia. Since becoming a mum to two active boys, her love for capturing children and families has grown as she understands the fleeting moments when your baby changes in a matter of weeks, and the importance of capturing those toddler moments before they start running off to primary school. Her goal to capture the journey of life with kids isn't about getting the perfectly posed family photo but capturing the beauty (and craziness!) of this season in life you are in.

Anastasia has been with studio eclectic for the past 8.5 years and has brought lots of fun and energy to our sessions especially when connecting with the children. Her background in fashion and art as well as street, fashion and editorial photography has brought along a unique and quirky different perspective to add to the eclectic of studio eclectic! Her role originated as photographer's assistant but has now evolved into second photographer, post-production assistant and now photographer for our preschools and events.
Tracy took some really amazing photos of my daughter when she was 3 months old and at our photo review session she offered up her services to photograph my daughters christening. The images were absolutely stunning and we are beyond impressed with the service, clarity and quality of the photos. Tracy truly captured the essence and importance of the church ceremony and took some heavenly looking photos. Would definitely recommend and use Tracy again in the future.
